Whilst on a personal quest to get some renewals done I got reminded why Microsoft certification renewals are a good thing.
I decided to do some certification renewals in bulk in order to free up more time for projects in 2026. Including the Microsoft Fabric Data Engineering certification as shown below.

Taking the renewals is a good way to keep your skills warm without needing to study for the entire exam again. Which is a great time-saver in an age where so many technical advances are happening at a fast speed. Like the advancement of MCP servers.
Plus, they are not proctored so the stress of preparing for an exam is removed. Including covering things up and moving glasses of water.
If you need to perform multiple renewals in 2026 then I recommend doing them as close to each other as possible. To give you more time to focus on other things. For example, new exams like the AB-100 exam that I covered in a previous post.
One other thing, if taking existing Microsoft exams are part of your New Years resolutions I provide certification posts to help. Including an updated checklist for the DP-700 Microsoft Fabric exam. Which has proven to be very popular.
Of course, various other resources for exams are available. For example, for the DP-700 exam resources such as CertiAce and the F-Files Podcast series are also available.
Finally, I wish everybody all the best for 2026. Whatever that may bring.
